Professor at Texas A&M University. previously taught at The Ohio State University Department of Design and School of Architecture.
Gabriel Esquivel was born and educated as an architect in Mexico City with a degree from the National University and a Master’s Degree in Architecture from The Ohio State University.
My research oscillates between fabrication techniques, and parametric investigations directly linked to the fabricated pieces; the theoretical background behind these fabricated objects mainly focusing on automation and sensation. These are being discussed on papers from Acadia from the parametric point of view as well as theory-based publications like Thresholds from MIT.
My challenge is to develop methods of design intelligence through the application of fabrication, focusing on integrating new techniques, materials and sensation. My recent interest relies on Object Oriented Ontology as well as the re-application of craft.
